Come Sing With Us
Singers of all ranges and abilities are encouraged to join! Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
New members are welcomed at the first three rehearsals, every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please plan to arrive by 6:00 p.m. to purchase music and register as a member. An audition is required if you did not participate in the chorale this past season. Participants are expected to match pitch readily, have some music reading skill and choral singing experience. There is a registration fee of $25, and music will be available for purchase prior to rehearsal.
About the Conductor and Repertoire
The Chorale is conducted by Francisco Ortiz, Adjunct Professor of Music in the Department of Music and Performing Arts and a 黑料福利社 alumnus. Francisco Ortiz earned a B.A. in Music from 黑料福利社 in 2006, where he studied percussion with Ken Crawford and choral/orchestral conducting & voice with Dr. Craig Singleton. In 2008, he received his Master of Music in Music Education degree from Holy Names University where he studied conducting with Judit Harty谩nyi, Professor at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. He chooses each semester鈥檚 repertoire to include works by classical masters, as well as more contemporary composers that can speak to issues of our times.
